Overseer Paul Wilson, II. was born to Paul M. Wilson, Sr. and E.J. Pope on January 17, 1984 in Norfolk, VA. He is the oldest of three children born to this union, with a brother in Las Vegas, Nevada (Marcus), and a sister in Portsmouth, Virginia (Alicia). From an early age, Paul had an expressed interest in teaching and learning. When he was not playing school with an imaginary classroom of stuffed animals, he created a school in the family room of his house, teaching his sister and members of the neighborhood and using the entire family to be part of the staff. To this end, Paul worked hard to be a serious student, graduating as the fourth ranked Norview Pilot in the class of 2002 and earning a full scholarship to Old Dominion University. Paul matriculated from Old Dominion with high honors in May 2007, and began a career as a science instructor at Granby High School that August, a post he maintained for five years. The Lord favored Paul to also teach at Woodrow Wilson High School for four years, where he was the 2015 Portsmouth City Schools Teacher of the Year and Region II Commonwealth of Virginia runner-up.
Paul has earned additional degrees including a Master’s Degree from the American College of Education in Educational Leadership as of December 2015 as a dean’s perfect scholar, and a Master of Science degree in Biology at Clemson University. Paul is currently continuing his studies through the pursuit of an executive Doctor of Philosophy degree at Old Dominion University in Educational Leadership. Paul has served as an assistant principal, elementary principal, and middle school principal within Portsmouth Public Schools, and is currently the Director of Student Support Services with Chesapeake Public Schools.
In June 2009, Overseer Wilson married the love of his life, Dr. Kristen A. V. Wilson, after dating for over nine years. They have been blessed to have their son, Paul, III., in their lives since June 2019. Together, they are active in the ministry at Endtime United Church where Paul serves as the Senior Pastor, a post he has held since succeeding his former servant leader, Pastor-Emeritus Joyce Washington, in October 2017. Paul also serves as the Overseer of the Fourth Episcopal Diocese for the United Church of Jesus Christ Apostolic under Bishop Ann Dockery, who is the Diocesan Bishop. Paul thoroughly enjoys working with and for the people of God, and has a unique ability to both inspire and challenge those around him.
Overseer Wilson’s passion is sharing the Word of God with the children of God. He truly believes that all things work together for the good of them that love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. While he maintains being humbly submitted to the master’s service, Overseer Wilson is not afraid to speak up and declare the greatness of God. He is unapologetically saved, sanctified, filled with the Holy Ghost, and on fire declaring the gospel of Jesus Christ.
